What the figures show

Average monthly earnings rose from THB 10,340 in 2011 to THB 16,699 in 2025, an increase of +61.5% before allowing for rising prices. Growth has been slow in recent years: earnings changed by +10.4% between 2019 and 2025. Compare this with inflation to see how far pay has kept up with prices.

The ILO also publishes separate figures for men and women, shown in the table below. In every year since 2016, average earnings for women employees have been slightly higher than for men. This compares all men and all women in paid employment, so it reflects which jobs each group holds, not pay for the same work.

About this data

This is the mean: total earnings divided by the number of employees. A small number of high earners pull the mean up, so most employees earn less than this figure. It covers employees only. The self-employed, own-account workers and unpaid family workers, who make up a large part of Thailand's workforce, are not included. Figures are in current baht and are not adjusted for inflation. Some earlier years are missing, and the 2015 value is much lower than the years either side; it is shown as published. This is not the legal minimum wage, which is set separately by province.
