Thailand's official tourism statistics are published mainly by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. They cover international arrivals by nationality, domestic trips, visitor spending and province-level tourism. This section brings those series together with long-run history, the publisher's own definitions and links to the original releases.
Reading tourism figures
- Check what is being counted. Arrival series count entries recorded by the publisher; where a publisher does not say whether repeat visits by the same person are counted separately, the statistics page says so.
- Preliminary figures change. The ministry marks recent figures P (preliminary); they can be revised in later releases, and each page labels them.
- Partial years are labelled as such. A year-to-date total such as January–August is always shown with its months and compared only with the same months of the previous year.
